You might be interested in joining one of the groups but are not sure what is expected of you in a Therapeutic Writing Group. It’s not about how good you are at writing, in fact your spelling and punctuation don’t matter at all, no one else will be reading your writing unless you want them to.
Therapeutic writing is a way of making sense of your experience, and of arriving at a deeper understanding of yourself and why you are feeling the way you do. Each session will consist of several writing activities and a time to verbally share either your writing or how you felt whilst doing it. There is no requirement to share what you have written if you prefer not to but most people find it beneficial when they do.
Some people might like to bring their own notebook and pen or pencil but paper and pens will be available.
We hope you will be able to join us.
