FAQs

question markWhat is Counselling?

Counselling provides a safe, non judgemental place to discuss issues whilst maintaining confidentiality and fostering a trusting relationship. It can facilitate insight and empowerment and provide a space to explore potential for change with an option to move forward.

Who is it for?

Our private counselling service is available to anyone aged over 13 years. We also have counsellors/mentors who will see both primary and secondary aged children at their school.

I’m interested, what happens next?

You can self refer or be referred (e.g. by your GP). Self referral generally requires an initial assessment. Click on Book an Appointment to find out more. Counselling sessions are normally on a weekly basis and sessions last for 50 minutes.  Internet Counselling can be provided for those who find this more convenient, contact us for more information.  The amount of sessions required will depend on individual circumstances, but if there is a referral from a Health Visitor or GP, it will be in the region of 6 to 12 sessions.

What is the cost?

Our venue is the Ludwick Family Club in Welwyn Garden City, where we have several counselling rooms. Our sliding scale service starts from £10 per session (weekday mornings only) rising to £45.  Contact us for further information.
